In a noteworthy milestone, Bilingual Students have dominated the recent National Junior Honor Society inductees at Louise A. Spencer School, constituting an impressive 80%. The National Junior Honor Society, which recognizes middle school students for their scholarship, leadership, service, character and citizenship, is a testament to the school's dedication to nurturing diverse talents. A dedicated 6th grader, Danny Parra, expressed his pride in being part of the National Junior Honor Society: “It is a big honor for me to be in the National Junior Honor Society. I have worked very hard to learn more English and get good grades in school. I am happy to make my parents and teachers proud of me.”
Newark Public Schools continues to uphold its mission of promoting academic excellence and inclusivity, which is evident in the rising number of students inducted into the National Junior Honor Society each year. This trend underscores the District's focus on cultivating well-rounded students who excel academically and exhibit outstanding character and commitment to community service. The achievement of these bilingual students reflects both their dedication and the success of the District in creating an educational atmosphere that champions linguistic diversity and academic prowess.
Congratulations to the National Junior Honor Society Inductees for their hard-work, dedication, and outstanding achievements!
