[Newark, NJ] The Newark Board of Education is proud to announce that John F. Kennedy School has been recognized with the esteemed designation as a State School of Character by Character.org.
Each year, Character.org certifies schools and districts at the state level that have developed and implemented an intentional, proactive, and comprehensive approach that embeds character into all aspects of the school life.
This prestigious honor is a testament to the dedication, commitment, and hard work demonstrated by the students, educators, administrators, and community members at John F. Kennedy School led by Principal Jill Summers-Phillips. The Schools of Character program, is a national initiative that recognizes schools and districts that demonstrate a commitment to fostering positive character development in students, creating a respectful and inclusive school culture, and promoting social and emotional learning.
John F. Kennedy School has shown exemplary efforts in instilling core values, such as respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship, in its students.
