The Newark Board of Education premiered its “Let’s Go to Work!” film featuring generations of brilliant, talented, and hardworking scholars and staff. The Board of Education was excited to share one of its many multi-faceted approaches toward attracting and retaining dedicated educators to Newark Public Schools classrooms and to encourage families to enroll their children in our schools.
The Newark Public School’s “Let’s Go to Work!” film highlights the joy and diversity of Newark students and staff, whose passions include fine arts, athletics, humanities, and a wide range of sciences that are explored daily. Newark Public Schools foster these passions through curricula that are constantly adapting to meet the needs of our children and the realities of an ever-evolving world.
The film also celebrates the educators dedicated to Newark students, whose feedback informs the Board of Education’s professional learning opportunities, mentorship programming, and assessment structures.
“Our administrators and staff are the backbone of all that Newark schools have achieved and plan to achieve in the future,” said Superintendent Roger León. “We are excited to celebrate the greatness and genius of Newark students with their families, and we appreciate them entrusting us with the education of their children.”
“Our teachers are amongst our district’s most valued assets,” said Board President Dawn Haynes. “They challenge our students to be fearless and to step into their greatness. In fact, this film is representative of all of the district staff who work tirelessly to make the dreams of our students come true.”
Throughout the coming months, the Newark Board of Education will continue its efforts to expand Newark’s core of talented teachers and increase enrollment throughout our schools.
