Administration, staff and students from West Side High School, were joined by members of the West Side H.S. Alumni Association, NJ Cares, the Amelior Foundation and Google to distribute 300 Christmas trees and stands to West Ward residents and other Newark residents, as well.
The trees were donated as part of a continuing partnership with the West Ward community. Principal Akbar Cook, who was joined by more than 20 students, doing community service at the Sunday event, said, “I want to thank all of our community partners and the alumni, who continue to give their time, resources and energy to build upon our community at West Side.”
Principal Cook also thanked vice principals, coaches and staff who joined him to volunteer for the day.
