Judging for next school year’s inspiring Attendance Campaign posters took place this week at the Newark Public Schools’ Central Office, when Superintendent Cami Anderson and staff from various departments were assigned the difficult task of choosing the winning artwork.The Office of College & Career Readiness had challenged students to enter the district-wide poster contest entitled “GO VIRAL! ATTEND TODAY, ACHIEVE TOMORROW.” Through the creation of Digital and Paper Based artwork,students demonstrated their ability to use artistic methods to bring to life NPS’ district’s attendance slogan, “Attend Today, Achieve Tomorrow.” Since the contest began 15 years ago, this is the first time students were asked to produce Digital artwork.
Judging was based on the following elements:

- Creativity
- Originality
- Effective Visual Design
- Graphic Clarity
- Graphic Relevance
- Innovation
The Grand Prize Winners of the Digital and Paper Based poster categories will have his or her artwork professionally reproduced and displayed throughout the district as part of the 2014-2015 Attendance Campaign. In addition, they will receive a trophy, gift card and recognition at a school celebration.
