The Newark Board of Education, in collaboration with the Office of Student Life, hosted its annual fall college fair for high school seniors on Friday, September 22, 2023. This year's event took place at the NJIT Wellness and Events Center, situated at 104 Lock Street, Newark, NJ. Over 50 esteemed college recruiters participated in the fair, engaging with more than two thousand seniors who were actively preparing for their post-secondary plans. Notable recruiters included Rutgers University, Rowan University, Bloomfield College of MSU, Montclair State University, Morgan State University, the Malcolm Bernard HBCU representative, United States Military Services, the High School Academic Support Program, and NJIT.
Seniors were provided with the Class of 2024 College Fair Resource Guide and a bookbag to collect college applications and scholarship materials. Furthermore, students came prepared to meet recruiters, equipped with copies of their transcripts for review during the fair. Overall, seniors made the most of this invaluable opportunity to explore a wide range of post-secondary options upon their high school graduation.
