While students and teachers were enjoying their well-deserved Spring recess, the NBOE Facilities team was hard at work, completing a multitude of tasks that couldn't be accomplished during regular school hours. One of their major projects involved the lobby area at East Side High School.
The original sheet metal ceiling in the lobby had seen better days, and hidden above it were water lines and electrical wiring that needed attention. Recognizing the need for an upgrade, the team of skilled tradespeople took advantage of the break to tackle this challenging endeavor. With precision and expertise, they completely removed the old ceiling and replaced it with a brand new acoustical suspended ceiling. This modern addition not only gives the lobby a sleek and contemporary look, but it also serves a practical purpose. The new ceiling features flat panel LED lighting, which not only illuminates the space but also allows the team to conceal all the mechanical and distribution pipes.
This project is just one example of the many tasks that the NBOE Facilities team accomplished over the Spring Break. Their dedication and hard work ensure that schools continue to provide a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment for its students and staff.
