The Office of Facilities continues to follow through with installation of contactless water fountains throughout the district. Installation of these contactless water fountains will allow students, faculty, and staff access to safe clean water in a more hygienic fashion than traditional water fountains. The Office of Project Control is collecting water samples and coordinating testing of all drinking, food preparation & nurse’s station water sources district-wide.
In addition to these initiatives, the Office of Project Control is currently remodeling classrooms at various schools across the District. Some of the schools include, Newark School of Fashion & Design, Newark School of Data Science & Information Technology, Newark School of Global Studies, and Michelle Obama Elementary School to support the additional grade levels for the upcoming school year. The renovations include installation of Vinyl Composite Tiles (VCT) flooring, LED lighting, white/cork/smart boards, window shades, and painting of classrooms. This remodeling will enhance the learning environment by providing a brighter, safe, and modern classroom.
