A Cultural Immersion Partnership between the Newark School of Global Studies and Malcolm X Shabazz High School along with School Provost, Ambassador Shabazz, has culminated with a delegation of students under the guidance of both School Principals: Nelson Ruiz and Atiba Buckman in collaboration with Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Maria Ortiz, as district Ambassadors are traveling to Louisville, Kentucky from June 17th to June 22nd participating in the 2022 Young Ambassador's Fellowship project. From celebrating Juneteenth Day to visiting Roots 101 Museum, The Muhammad Ali Center, The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts, The Louisville Slugger Museum, Touring Simmons College (HBCU) and the University of Louisville were just a few of the experiences that the delegation has been able to participate in this most successful Inaugural Cultural Immersion Program.
