Welcome Back Letter

Dear Salomé Ureña Elementary School Families,
Welcome Back to the 2023-2024 school year. I am Principal Alvarez, the very proud Principal of our STAR Students and Staff! I hope this letter finds you well and that you have enjoyed a restful and rejuvenating summer break. As we prepare to welcome back our students and families for the new school year, I want to express my gratitude and appreciation for your dedication to our school community as you welcome me, as your new Principal. We are proud of our school community and their achievements and perseverance during the last school year. We have been working rigorously to create a plan that maximizes teaching and learning while focusing on student well-being and safety.
I would like to introduce our administrative team: Vice Principal Bueno: who will be assisting in overseeing Grades PreK-4 and Vice Principal Ravaioli: who will be assisting in overseeing Grades 5-8. Together we are committed to remain steadfast in the continued commitment to academic excellence, high expectations, innovative practices, school safety, and inclusive excellence for all of our students. We will continue to build upon the high standards and expectations of excellence we have built into our culture. Meeting the needs of all students is our top priority, and we will work with everyone to address their individual academic, social and emotional needs.

Comunidad de Salomé Ureña Elementary School,
Bienvenido de nuevo al año escolar 2023-2024. ¡Soy la Directora Alvarez, la muy orgullosa directora de nuestros estudiantes y personal de ESTRELLAS! Espero que esta carta los encuentre bien y que hayan disfrutado de unas vacaciones de verano reparadoras y rejuvenecedoras. Mientras nos preparamos para dar la bienvenida a nuestros estudiantes y familias para el nuevo año escolar, quiero expresar mi gratitud y aprecio por su dedicación a nuestra escuela, comunidad mientras me dan la bienvenida, como su nueva Directora. Estamos orgullosos de nuestra comunidad escolar y de sus logros y perseverancia durante el último año escolar. Hemos estado trabajando rigurosamente para crear un plan que maximice la enseñanza y el aprendizaje mientras nos enfocamos en el bienestar y la seguridad de los estudiantes.
Me gustaría presentar a nuestro equipo administrativo: Vicedirectora Bueno: quien asistirá en la supervisión de los grados Pre K-4 y Vicedirectora Ravaioli: quien asistirá en la supervisión de los grados 5-8. Juntas estamos comprometidas a permanecer firmes en el compromiso continuo con la excelencia académica, altas expectativas, prácticas innovadoras, seguridad escolar y excelencia inclusiva para todos nuestros estudiantes. Continuaremos construyendo sobre los altos estándares y expectativas de excelencia que hemos incorporado a nuestra cultura. Satisfacer las necesidades de todos los estudiantes es nuestra principal prioridad, y trabajaremos con todos para abordar sus necesidades académicas, sociales y emocionales individuales.
