Newark Vocational High School Culinary Arts students were invited to celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson's grand reopening of the Marcus B&P Restaurant!

The event was hosted by C-CAP (Careers through Culinary Arts Program) as our students cooked and served alongside professional chefs. C-CAP is one of our Culinary Arts partners who provides students the work skills and experiences needed for the pathway to success in the culinary arts industry. Scholars spent the afternoon of October 28, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. practicing their Culinary Arts and Hospitality skills in the kitchen and at the front of the house at Marcus B&P Restaurant.

Our students certainly got a taste of what a chef’s day is like. They prepared and served food of their creations at the restaurant. Chef, owner, and Food Network star, Marcus Samuelsson, graciously made the students the stars of the evening by giving them an unforgettable culinary experience. His hospitality and generosity made a positive impact on these aspiring chefs!
