Dear Families,
Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! I hope this letter finds you and your loved ones healthy and safe! I am thrilled to be writing to you as I proudly begin my second year as Principal of Newark Vocational High School, and to also introduce a new member of our leadership team. In addition to Vice Principals Mr. Izzo, Ms. Gill, and Mr. Ramos, Department Chairs Ms. Nascimento, Ms. Saberwal, Mr. Malpass and Ms. Petty, we have now added Department Chair Thomas Duncan to our staff! I am excited that not only are we fully staffed as a leadership team, but also as a school! This year we will continue the work we began together to build our core values and truly define who we are as Eagles. As a result of our successes last year which include increasing our overall daily attendance percentage, improving academic achievement, and decreasing our discipline infractions, we will continue using the term “Soaring to New Heights” as a predictor of continuing our upward trajectory to greatness. Remember, we succeed so we can continue to soar!
