Congratulations to the Track & Field Team for a great showing at the Newark Public Schools Track Championships yesterday.

The boys’ team was led by Aatif Kalimah who earned medals in the 100, 200 and 400 meter dashes. Jimlee James earning medals in the 1600 and 3200 meter runs. The field events were dominated by Mark Burney who earned silver medals in the Shot Put and Discus, while Theo Desloges earned a 5^thplace finish in the Triple Jump. Finally freshmen new comer rounded out the day by earning a gold medal in the Freshmen 400 meter dash and a silver medal in the 800 meter run.

The girls had a strong showing led by Seniors Infinity Hedrington and Valerie Desloges. Infinity earned two medals and Valerie earned three medals on the track and in the field events. Nahdiyyah Houge earned a 6^th place finish in the 800 meter run and not to be out done, Freshmen Jahne Slocum earning a 2^nd place silver medal in the Girls Freshmen 400 meter dash.

Rough Rider’s represented well, great job!!
