Coach Ruth is a product of Newark Public Schools, she graduated from Science Park in 2009.  Coach Ruth started playing volleyball in middle school but started getting serious during her sophomore year at Science. She went on to play Division 2 volleyball on a full academic and athletic scholarship. During her time at Bloomfield, she earned CACC all-academic honors and participated in the conference tournament. Coach Ruth has coached club volleyball and high school volleyball. She took two teams with losing records and turned them into state tournament qualifiers at both schools.  At the first high school, it was the first in their school's history. Coach Ruth also won Coach of the year during her first year coaching high school volleyball. As a student-athlete, Coach Ruth is passionate about academics first and volleyball second. She is proud to be a Roughrider and to share her passion here in the city of Newark.
