During the freshman year, all students will take Technology Applications for Business and the Entrepreneur: Students will learn key business technology skills through a variety of learning activities and projects designed to teach technology applications needed to be a successful entrepreneur. Students will produce accounting, financial, marketing and presentation materials that are typically used in business and/or when starting a business venture. Projects are designed to develop skills in technology, communications, research, problem solving, decision making, teamwork and critical thinking. Students will demonstrate mastery of concepts and showcase their work in a portfolio At the end of the 9th Grade students will select the business pathway best suited to their specific interests.

Supply Chain Management
The course has strong emphasis on providing analytical skills, critical thinking, and managerial insights. The topics we will cover in this course could be grouped into four main modules:
- Supply chain strategy: strategic fit, network design, global dual sourcing
- Managing supply chain risks: risk-sharing contracts, risk pooling, risk hedging
- Coordinating supply chain: sales & operations planning, bullwhip effect
- Guest lecture: there will be one or two guest lectures and the topics are to be determined. In its essence, a supply chain includes everything that happens to a product or service from conceptualization to the point of sale.

- Develop entrepreneurial skills and concepts by using word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, Web design and digital marketing software to create business documents and Marketing materials for a new business.
- Discover what it takes to be an entrepreneur, build a thriving enterprise, and provide unique customer experiences through concepts of marketing, social media marketing, advertising and promotion to develop a competitive advantage.
- Apply winning business strategies to successfully conduct a business firm at a global scale by working cooperatively to develop and write a business plan, conduct market research, design and implement an e-commerce website, recruit and market to clients/customers, and pay wages and taxes via an electronic web-based banking system that links firms worldwide.

What do Apple, ESPN, Twitter, Google, and Nike have in common? They are all successful marketers! Learn the skills and methods that have helped these companies and celebrated brands!
This course is based on the business and marketing core that includes communication skills, economics, financial analysis, and promotion. Both marketing and employment skills learned will improve and increase the chance of successful transition into the world of work. Leadership development will be provided through FBLA activities and competitive events.

Accounting & Finance
This course will provide an introduction to both areas of accounting and finance. Topics will include banking, credit, financial literacy, career exploration, spreadsheet usage, and technical writing. The accounting principles taught in this course are based on a double-entry system and include preparing bank reconciliations, payroll taxes, and financial statements. Students will also develop skills to analyze business transactions, journalize, post, and prepare worksheets and financial statements, and apply financial analysis to business processes. Additionally, students receive exposure to the ethical considerations that accounting professionals must face and the standards of practice governing their work, such as the GAAP (generally accepted accounting procedures). Detailed career exploration in the various fields of accounting will be available. Leadership development will be provided through FBLA.

Advanced Manufacturing
Think about the last time you visited your favorite store. Have you ever wondered how the products you buy make it to the store shelves? Whether it is video games, clothing, or sports equipment, the goods we purchase must go through a manufacturing process before they can be marketed and sold. In this course, you’ll learn about the types of manufacturing systems and processes used to create the products we buy every day. You’ll also be introduced to the various career opportunities in the manufacturing industry including those for engineers, technicians, and supervisors. This program teaches manufacturing as a career and the history and fundamentals of manufacturing and logistics. It also teaches students the use of Engineering Design to solve real problems. Upon successful completion of this Skills Cer3ficate program, you will receive a Certificate of Completion and a Skills Badge.
