Dedication, discipline, sacrifice and achievement are each key elements of Principal Thomas and his professional journey over the past two decades. This proud educator has devoted his life to the universal growth and development of young minds throughout the city of Newark and abroad in many different realms.

For the past 6 years Mr. Thomas has served the community as the Principal of both George Washington Carver Elementary School and Bruce Street School for the Deaf to provide a warm and safe learning environment for all students regardless of circumstance or adversity. Cultural awareness, knowledge of self, pride and tradition are inclusive of the school’s core values and vision of “P.E.A.C.E” which means Proper Education Always Corrects Errors. With this mindset and leadership, Principal Thomas and his excellent team of educators, parents and community members have been able to increase enrollment, raise attendance, improve academic growth performance, and enhance the overall social and emotional awareness throughout the school.
