Arrival/ Dismissal Procedure

All students are expected to arrive promptly at Peshine by 8:25 am. Doors will open at 8:15 am for a smooth transition. Students will begin dismissal promptly at 2:55 pm. All students will enter and exit through their assigned location.

Absences/ Tardiness Procedure

Students are considered tardy if they arrive after 8:30 am. All late students will enter through the main entrance and sign in with the Attendance Counselor. Students who arrive after 9:00 am must have a parent present to sign them in.

Parents should report all absences so that they can be recorded on the student’s account. Students who are absent for 3 or more days consecutively must return with a doctor’s note and/or speak with the Attendance Counselor.

Dayton Shuttle Bus Procedure

The Dayton Bus Shuttle provides transportation to all students that attend Peshine Avenue School who live on the opposite side of Weequahic Park. The Hub for pickup/drop off is the TREC Center located at 55 Ludlow Street. Students should arrive at least 5-10 minutes before departure time at 8:10 am. Parents are expected to arrive for a prompt pick-up between 2:55 pm – 3:05 pm. If you have questions regarding eligibility, please contact the school’s main office.

Parent and Visitor Information: Safety Reminders (NBOE Office of Safety Policy)

• Please do not enter the building during arrival or dismissal unless you are going to the main office.
• Make sure you have your ID when you visit or pick up at your child’s school.
• Be prepared to display your ID to our security camera or present it to a staff member when requested.
• Make sure you are individually buzzed in — do not hold the door for anyone else.
• Young students may only be released to individuals listed on their student account or a parent’s handwritten note. Anyone picking up your child should be prepared to present ID.
• Inform school staff about student safety concerns raised by your child or found on social media.
• Know your school’s emergency and safety procedures and talk to your child about their importance.
