Peshine Avenue School is the only elementary/middle school from Newark attending the Middle School Nationals Debate in Iowa! Congratulations to our 8th grade debaters Elias Hodge(who will attend Science Park High School in the fall of 2024) and Prince Nitiema(who will attend Technology High School in the fall of 2024).

The Competition will have 6,700 students and 1,500 schools represented debating the topic: The United States federal government should substantially increase fiscal redistribution in the United States by adopting a federal jobs guarantee, expanding Social Security, and/or providing a basic income.

The National Speech and Debate Tournament will be held in De Moine, Iowa June 16-23, 2024.
