New Jersey Regional Day uses standards aligned curricula developed for students with specialized educational needs, that include ABA methodologies. All of our students build Activities of Daily Living skills using proven curriculum in specially designed classrooms. They receive explicit instruction in Social and Emotional Learning. Communication instruction is paramount at NJ Regional Day as we recognize the importance of students’ ability of expressing their wants and needs as well as connecting with their family and community members. We incorporate communication instruction throughout every aspect of our student’ day. Behaviors which may be hindering achievement are addressed using positive behavior supports.
The students in our elementary school engage in research based curriculum to build academic foundational skills using research based, best practices.
Students in High School continue to build academic skills using home, community, and workplace content.
The students in our Transition Program continue their growth academically as they begin to learn how to apply what they have learned through community and workplace based structured learning experiences.
