Our History
Sir Isaac Newton Elementary School reopened its doors in September 2020, as a new school under the leadership of Superintendent Roger León. In 1867, the school first opened under the former name of Newton Street School.
Sir Isaac Newton Elementary School is a science themed school, serving students in Pre-K 3 through Grade 2. At Sir Isaac Newton Elementary School, our goal is to challenge our students daily through project based learning. Our teachers develop structures in which rigor and high expectations are evident in every classroom. At Sir Isaac Newton Elementary School, we commit to providing a safe and nurturing environment for our students, while preparing them to be innovators of the future as we tap into their genius and unlimited potential.
By the school year 2027-28, Sir Isaac Newton Elementary School will serve students in grade Pre-K through Grade 8. Sir Isaac Newton Elementary School is creating a PreK-12 continuum where our students will gain a direct path to Science Park High School. Our teachers are certified in Project Lead the Way and all of our classes have STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) immersion.
All of our classes encompass hands-on-learning to empower students to be innovative in solving real-world challenges and inspire them to reimagine how they see themselves.
