Physical Education

The goal of the Office of Health, Physical Education and Athletics is to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to lead healthy lifestyles through the coordination of athletic programs, health and physical education and safety. Physical and health-literate people are able to address their own health needs along with the needs of others. Achieving these goals will contribute to improved academic student performance, the development of moral and social responsibility, as well as positive self-esteem, nutrition awareness, sportsmanship, teamwork, school spirit, and a safe and drug-free learning environment.

Media Center

The mission of the Hawkins Street School Media Center is to encourage all students, staff, and parents to become active patrons of the library for entertainment and information; to encourage all students, staff, and parents to become responsible users of information; and to motivate students, staff, and parents to become avid readers. The goals of the Hawkins Street School Library are to provide motivating activities that encourage patronage, provide resources that encourage information-seeking activities, provide learning experiences that facilitate ethical behavior with information, and provide a nurturing environment that encourages lifelong readers.
