Dear Parent or Guardian, we invite you to join us for a brief presentation about the MBF Child Safety Matters program that is soon to be implemented in our school. This curriculum teaches children how to identify and respond to bullying, cyberbullying, child abuse, and digital dangers. The goal of this program is not necessarily to address any specific problem in our school, but rather to prevent these issues before they arise. It covers personal safety, bullying, cyberbullying, all types of child abuse, digital abuse and other digital dangers. The curriculum is designed for elementary-aged students and based on the latest research; teaching them 5 Safety Rules and Safe Adults which will help keep them safe. Parent involvement is key to its success – each lesson comes with activities meant for parents to do with their children. Research shows that everyone benefits when children are safe; having higher grades in school, better attendance, and happier lives overall. We’ll discuss further details regarding parent involvement during the presentation. Thank you for your help!
