The Newark School of Data Science and Information Technology was excited to showcase our 9th graders student projects in STEM education at our first STEM Conference. This event took place on Wednesday 20th March from 10 am to 2:40 pm, and Keynote Speaker Drew Headley, PhD., Assistant Professor from the Center for Molecular and Behavioral Neuroscience at Rutgers University - Newark addressed us on attention and memory.
The theme of this conference was "Healing Through Technology", and following the keynote address, students presented their research and showcased their created medical device prototypes. Throughout the day, students gave peer-to-peer feedback on each other's projects, while selected teachers judged and gave teacher-student feedback. Awards to the 5 groups which were determined by teachers and peers to have been the best presentations will be given out next Tuesday.
