As stated in Newark’s mission statement, we must recognize that “each child is a unique individual: possessing talents, abilities, goals, and dreams…we (must) also acknowledge the richness of the diverse environment that surrounds us…It is equally essential that these institutions become an integral part of our educational program.” But, of course, parents must be the most important individuals and partners to all involved with the nurturing of their children’s future.

PTO's represent thousands of groups who choose to run independent of the PTA. PTO's are most often single-school groups that operate under their own bylaws and concern themselves with the happenings at their building or in their town only.
