Principal
Amy Panitch received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and after spending three years working in the corporate world in New York City, made the decision to switch careers to follow her heart. She earned a Masters of Arts in Teaching at Montclair State in 2005 and immediately obtained her first teaching position at Franklin School in Newark where she taught third and fourth grade. While teaching at Franklin, she recognized her passion for urban education. In 2010, she was recognized for her leadership abilities and was offered the opportunity to serve in the position of Teacher Coach in the area of mathematics. In 2016, she earned her second master’s degree from Montclair State University in Educational Leadership and was promoted to Vice Principal at Franklin School. In 2019, Mrs. Panitch was appointed to be principal of Franklin School. Franklin has been Mrs. Panitch’s second home since 2005.
